just one of those days: behind the scenes.

Whoa! Let me try that again.

Ah! Ok, one more try.

Perfect. 2x.

  • It’s just one of those days where you’re up at 5 a.m. and at work by 7:30 a.m.
  • Today’s one of those days where I managed to get myself out of bed for a stupid-early morning workout. I don’t even remember how it happened. But I’m glad it did.
  • It’s one of those days where two cups of coffee doesn’t even come close to enough.
  • It’s a day where that beautiful sun is willing me to come out and play on the beach all. day.
  • It’s one of those days that’s missing one thing: a whole lot of Friday.
  • It’s just one of those weeks where the mirror scolds me day after day for putting off a hair cut.
  • It’s one of those out-of-the-office-all-day days since I’m recording some stuff for work. And I’m thankful. Sometimes, some things are too tough to face.

Not to get all philosophical and whanot, but I’m the one who belongs behind the camera, rather than in front of it.

Behind the scenes of last night: I did more CECS {Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome} research, and the more I read about it, the more I’m convinced I have some part of this syndrome.

From the MedScape website:

“Case studies of CECS in the forearm, thigh, and gluteal regions have been published, but they are rare. CECS is often bilateral, although involvement of a single extremity may occur.”

“A sense of fullness in the compartment typically has a gradual onset, which usually worsens as activity progresses. Pain may be increased with active contraction and passive stretching during symptomatic episodes. Commonly, the patient notes the sensation of weakness, which is usually described as a loss of control of the affected extremity. For example, a runner may develop foot slap on heel-strike due to weakness of the tibialis anterior muscle.”

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes to all the symptoms.

I can barely sit still. I can’t wait to talk to the doctor about this and make them listen to me.

Have a great Thursday — how is it already Thursday?!

Tell me your favorite song. I need some new playlists.

  1. Amen about two cups of coffee not being enough today. I’m going to need another soon! I’m glad that you have the chance to get out of the office today; I know that for me the days where I’m stuck at the house with the boys all day are definitely harder than when we can get out for a bit. Have a wonderful Thursday hun!
